Duncan Matteson:

The Sequoia Hospital Foundation was saddened to learn of the passing of Duncan Matteson earlier this year.  A prominent real estate and banking executive, community leader and philanthropist, Duncan and his wife, Shirley, have been long-time supporters of Sequoia’s mission and programs.

In recent years, Duncan had become involved in the Foundation’s golf tournament, serving on the planning committee and generously sponsoring the event’s awards and celebration dinner.  His experience and advice helped further grow our annual event.

Before his passing, Duncan made provisions for Sequoia to be included as a charitable beneficiary of his IRA account. This generous act means that he and Shirley will again be the tournament’s dinner sponsor this year. The remainder of his gift will benefit Sequoia’s Heart and Vascular Institute.
