Stepping Forward: Transforming Orthopedic Surgery
Robotic Joint Replacement Technology at Sequoia Hospital
Completed $1.2 million Initiative
Sequoia Hospital and its outstanding physicians have a strong commitment to providing the most advanced care for all surgical procedures. Today, significant advancements in joint replacement surgery are transforming how orthopedic procedures are performed. Innovative robotic technology allows surgeons to personalize total and partial knee replacement for every patient.
We are thrilled to share that the Stepping Forward: Transforming Orthopedic Surgery Initiative was successfully completed and implemented in 2024. Thanks to the generous philanthropic funding, which raised a total of $1.2 million from our community, we were able to acquire the Mako SmartRobotics™ System. This leading-edge robotic technology enables our surgeons at Sequoia to customize total and partial knee and hip replacements, leading to a wide range of improved patient outcomes such as faster recovery, reduced pain, and overall well-being.
As an orthopedic surgeon at Sequoia, I have witnessed both the clinical and patient benefit to of this innovative surgical robotic system. Thank you for supporting this technology and allowing Sequoia to maintain its position as a center of orthopedic excellence in the Bay Area.
