Advancing Women's Health
Breast Cancer is the second most common cancer and the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women.
Sequoia Hospital's Breast and Diagnostic Center provides an individualized approach to screening, diagnosing and treating breast conditions. A patient navigator serves as a partner, helping guide patients through the often confusing diagnosis and treatment planning process.
Services offered through the Center include 3D (Tomosynthesis) and digital mammography, ultrasound, MRI, biopsies (using stereotactic, ultrasound and MRI guidance) and bone density screening.
Future Vision
To advance the level of care available to women in our community, the Sequoia Hospital Foundation is currently raising $370,000 to purchase state-of-the-art breast diagnostic equipment for the Breast and Diagnostic Center.
The equipment identified for this project includes state-of-the-art breast biopsy system and a portable hand-held breast ultrasound machine.
- The Brevera Breast Biopsy System with CorLumina Imaging Technology will provide precise biopsy collection through a less invasive, more comfortable, and faster procedure.
- As a fully-integrated system, the Trident HD Specimen Radiography System will allow Sequoia’s surgeons the mobile tool they need to verify tissue removal quickly in the operating room.
Our goal with this project is to increase our ability to offer routine mammograms for all women, detect breast cancer earlier than ever before and create a more effective treatment plan with more positive outcomes.
Generous gifts allow the Foundation to provide innovative technology for the utmost quality-of-care for women’s health and those served at Sequoia Hospital’s Breast and Diagnostic Center.
